Rooted in the first 1000 days of a child’s life

The Zola Budd Foundation believes that the future of a nation begins in the earliest years of a child’s life. The first 1000 days are critical for brain development, emotional security, and lifelong learning.

Yet across many South African communities, parents, caregivers, and Early Childhood Development (ECD) practitioners lack the support, training, and resources they need. We exist to change that by strengthening families, empowering parents, and equipping ECD centres to nurture every child’s potential.
